Quite the amazing end to and amazing week!

Got to American Fork and sat around for a little bit just hanging while Coach came up with the final varsity order. Ended up being Me, Jakob, Diwas, Mark, and Toph as our anchor. After that we jogged once around the course and then went out of the school grounds to try and find a less crowded bathroom. Got about 4 easy miles there. Then I came back did some drills and jogged another mile or so. Then once we got to the girls varsity 4th runner I put on my spikes and did some faster strides. So 6 miles total warmup.

The race went really well. I got out pretty strong and was working with Christian Allen of Copper Hills and a viewmont kid. The hay bales aren't really that bad execpt for the last section where there are 8 in a row, but once you find your pace they go by pretty fast. 1st mile was right around a 4:50. 2nd mile it was mostly just me and the viewmont kid. With about 1000 to go I made my move and by the time we hit the 2nd to last section of hay bales I had a decent lead. After the final section I really started to kick and right as I hit the track someone yelled 9:40. I pushed as hard as I could and finished 9:43 which is 2nd overall time on that course, 2 seconds behind Luke Puskedra.

Took a while for them to finalize results, which is not surprising because there was a lot of people there, and I was able to get 6 miles cooldown. When we got back to the East Stadium I did another 2 miles with Coach.

Great first race of my Senior Year!!
