Race: Simplot 3200m Finals (1.988 Miles) 00:08:57, Place overall: 1
Total Distance
12.00

Am: 3 miles

Drove up to Simplot for finals. Warmed up 3 miles with strides and drills.

Took the race out fast. First 400 was 63 and first 800 was 2:09. I had a decent lead but Clinger was slowing working his way to me. Went through the mile in 4:27-4:28. This is when I started to slow down a bit. Clinger moved up to me and with 3 laps to go he was right behind me. Picked it up a bit with 2 laps to go. I was nervous and just trying to maintain the lead. Then when I heard the final lap bell ring I went. Turned the legs on as far as they would go determined to have nothing left. Casey stayed pretty close until the far curve were I just opened up. Final time was 8:57 for me and Casey was 8:59. I think we are the first 2 boys to break nine on Idaho Soil. It was awesome.

Cooldown 4 miles.

Incredible race Garek! Sub-9:00 is phenomenal.

That was so sick to watch! And you would've broke 9 at Boise if it was 3200, huh
